ENCOUNTERS PARANORMAL RADIO SERIES:

The "Encounters Paranormal Radio Series" airs live across South Florida every Sunday evening at 9PM Eastern Standard Time.  The show is broadcast on AM1230 WBZT throughout Southeast Florida, including Miami/Dade, Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton, Delray and Boynton Beach, West Palm Beach and Belle Glade.  The average listening audience of the station is between 40,000 to 50,000 people.  The show is hosted by paranormal researcher and haunting survivor Tim Yancey, his wife Trish Yancey and paranormal investigator Jason Gowin.

Throughout her youth, Trish was regularly visited by what her young mind believed was her Guardian Angel. Encounters with this being were quite comforting and beautiful, though never discussed within her family. Always a fun mystery as well, her father would quite frequently tell everyone who was on the phone and who they were calling for .... before the phone rang. Strangely enough (in retrospect), this too was simply accepted within the family, but never delved into. These things gave Trish the strongly held belief that paranormal occurrences were probably very common for others, and that they were both enjoyable and helpful. Sheltered from 'dark' images and films, it wasn't until later years that she discovered that some paranormal events can leave many haunted, terrified and emotionally scarred.

Much of Trish's adult life has been spent educating others. She began with a part time job teaching students to play musical instruments twenty-five years ago, and for the last seventeen, she has been in business for herself bringing outreach educational programs to schools, hospitals and recreation centers. Through her company, Fun Learning Adventures, Inc., Trish educates and entertains more than sixteen thousand students each year. In her second job as the Director of Youth and Family Ministry at Unity of the Palm Beaches, she develops and implements programming that teaches the next generation about the Unity movement. More than simply a job, Trish finds that educating people is where her life repeatedly takes her.

At a young age, Tim and his brother had frightening encounters with an entity in the woods near his home, which began a haunting that his family and some friends endure to this day. It was the catalyst for his interest and passion in the paranormal, and he now has over 35 years of research and investigations in violent paranormal phenomenon.

Tim honed his investigative skills while serving five years as a ambulance medic, and working for the Lake Worth Police Department. He also served as a counselor with the Childrens Youth and Family Services in Florida for six years. He has investigated some of the most famous haunting locations in the United States including the Bell Witch property, Appomattax and Gettysburg, The "Amityville Horror" Haunting and The Devil's Tramping Ground.

Tim is a much sough-after public speaker on the topic of violent hauntings, his personal family experiences having placed him at the forefront of vast knowledge on the subject.  He has spoken at Colleges and Universities, paranormal conferences and conventions around the country on the subject of violent hauntings. He is the webmaster of "The Official Amityville Horror Website" which he created with his good friend George Lutz and is currently in pre-production with Steve LaChance, Denice Jones and the Booth Brothers on a three-part reality epic entitled "Haunted Survivors".

A lifetime fan of all things supernatural and ghostly, Jason Gowin started his interest in the paranormal as a mere child watching Scooby-Doo and Ghostbusters. The seeds these shows planted would later sprout him going to the local library as a kid and picking up every book he could on ghosts, demons and strange occurrences. But it wasn’t until meeting his former teammates from Ghost Hunters, Incorporated that he began to look for the spooks that spooked in the night.Jason Gowin began his actual trek into the unknown back in the fall of 1998 with the infamous paranormal investigation group Ghost Hunters, Incorporated, where he spent the better part of 10 years causing chaos wherever and whenever they could. Upon meeting George Lutz, the man who was the basis for the Amityville Horror book and movies, and being shown a new path; changed his mind about certain things in the paranormal and sought out a new way in which to search for it that suited the not quite so blood thirsty (not literary) methods that he had become famous along with his GHI buddies for dishing out. While his convictions about the state of the paranormal remain the same, He’s taken along with former GHI Alum and friends Bill Angove and Matt Ulkins, along with new comer to the paranormal Kyle Haggerty to continue bringing you an alternate source of paranormal information with the same brand of humor he’s always been known for..he just can’t be jumping into dumpsters and riding shopping carts into curbs anymore…his body says no more or it will no longer allow him to get out of bed in the morning, it made this very clear.

Although he left the group in 2007, GHI will always have a fond place in his heart and since that time he has been searching out proof of the afterlife and finding it in haunted houses, storied battlefields and long forgotten graveyards. Jason has appeared numerous times on Ghostly Talk Paranormal Radio and the Ghostman and Demon Hunter show. His investigations have been published in the Encyclopedia of Haunted Places by Jeff Bellanger. He has also been the basis for several widely released documentaries including New Gil Pictures “The Graveyard Shift” and Fight or Flight Films award winning “GHI vs BIGFOOT” amongst other videos about paranormal phenomenon.  In 2008, Jason was asked by longtime friend and mentor in the paranormal Tim Yancey to become a co-host of the Encounters Paranormal Radio Program. So Gow, Bill, Matt and Haggerty hopped into their cars, packed up their crap and headed on down to the sunny, warm gorgeousness of West Palm Beach, Florida to join in on new paranormal adventures.
